Geocache Description:

UPDATE 2/18/13: The micro apparently is missing again! I have revised the cache to keep it as a puzzle but eliminated the first WP. The key word for the puzzle is the name of a country or city for the Olympics. It could be past, present, or future. I could also be winter or summer.

Cache on!

Giovan Batista Belaso was a 16th century Italian who devised a system for encoding messages. However he never received proper recognition for this achievement because his method was mistakenly attributed to another person and still bears that person’s name.

The listed coordinates will take you to one of Pepperell's notable landmarks but the cache is not there. The key word for the puzzle is the name of a country or city for the Olympics. It could be past, present, or future. I could also be winter or summer. You will need to determine the cipher that is being used. When you have done this and deciphered the coded message correctly, you will know the coordinates for the final cache and for the parking, both of which are close by. The local library might be of some assistance.

The final cache is a .30 calibre ammo can (thanks GoGG!) It contains a logbook and pen, finder’s stickers (please take one as souvenir - no need to trade), a tri-color marker, hot wheels car, Barbie make-up, two pack card game (Old Maid and Go Fish), patriotic air fresheners, and an address book. Round trip distance from parking is a little over one half mile. The cache is well hidden and may be difficult to find in the snow. Good luck!
