Canal One Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

mlord: With great sadness, Ottawa's most popular downtown cache is now archived forever. There simply is not room enough at the renovated site for a container with a large enough log book -- I don't get downtown often enough to maintain a tiny logbook.

So.. farewell.

Byward Booty is still going, though..

Cheers!

Geocache Description:

A visitor-friendly mini along the Rideau Canal in Ottawa.

This series of small caches was inspired by a multitude of similar caches we found during a recent visit to London, England.

Canal One is located adjacent to the National Arts Centre in the heart of Ottawa.

The cache is a 5cmx5cm cylinder, large enough for very small travel bugs, and was initially seeded with a number of tiny items for trades. Bring your own pen/pencil.

This cache is not supposed to be visible from any angle, so if you find it in a visible location, please take care to re-hide it in the obvious and discreet non-visible location a few inches away.

More specifically, this cache is magnetically attached to the inside sidewall of the utility box (or on the lip at the bottom of the inside sidewall), and should be accessed by reaching up underneath, between the two Eastern posts of the box. Do not attempt to open the utility box!!

Please be mindful of observers when retrieving and replacing the cache -- this is a high traffic area!
