This will take you to a monument dedicated to a well known person who explored areas of North America that became parts of the Northwest Territory and later states of the United States. He is also well known for his other choosen profession
I had lived in this area for over 20 years and knew of this monuments existence but didn't know exactly where it was located. In the hopes of guiding visitors to it I have decided to make it part of a cache. The cache is winter friendly and will NOT require climbing the stairs to find the dates. The monument is currently under reconstruction but this will not affect finding the dates needed. The final cache location is located in a little known and under used public access point in Ludington. The cache container is a small duct tape covered pill bottle with only room for the log book and very small items. Bring your own pencil.
To claim the cache you will need to find two dates.
AAAA = The year the person the monument is dedicated to died.
D.DDD = The year the person the monument is dedicated to was born and putting a decibel between the first and second digit.
To compute the final North coordinates use N43 56.503 where BBB represents the unknown, N43 56.BBB (AAAA - 1526) = BBB
To compute the final West coordinates use W86 27.182 where C.CCC represents the unknown, W86 2C.CCC.
W86 27.182 -(D.DDD + .561) = 2C.CCC
(Remember your basic Algebra and solve the problem within the
parenthesis first)
