Geocache Description:

A partial view of the Elk Creek section of Dworshak from the top of a cliff.

10/1/2006: Barb and I hiked in and replaced the missing cache. I'll get back on soon and add some waypoints. It's not that bad of a hike if you know the way.
----
After the first seeker having problems Barb and I went back via a land route (since the boat wasn't readily available) to check the coordinates. I took two GPS units did a bunch of averaging and tweaked them slightly from the originals.

It is possible to get here without a boat but I DON'T recommend it. On Microsoft MapPoint there is a road of some type only about 450 yards away but it's actually an overgrown logging road. There is no trail and there is a fair amount of brush. From the nearest real road it is about 0.7 mile but there is a fence and locked gate from that location. Further to the SW is another gate that is permissible to walk around but the 'path' to the cache is very tough. Barb told me several times that she didn't know if she was going to make it or not. We did make it in and out again but with injuries to both of us. It is a very rough trip via land.

Approach the last couple of feet on your hands and knees as you don't want to fall over the edge. It's in a clear plastic food container underneath some tree bark.
