Cachen er plassert ved Nisservann I Nissedal. Navnet her egentlig ingenting med det vi omtaler som nisser i dag. Det kommer av elvenavnet ”nid” (brusende) sammen med ”sær” (sjø). Men lokale myndigheter lar selvfølgelig ikke et sånt navn gå upåaktet hen, så kommunevåpenet har tre nisseluer, og bygda markedsfører seg også med joleverkstader og lignende.
På andre siden av vannet sees det karakteristiske Hægefjell, som er et yndet mål for fjellklatrere.
The cache is placed by the ”Nisser-lake” in Nisse-Valley. In Norwegian Nisse means SantaClaus. But in Norway Nisse is also a kind of mytical nice figure living in the forests and the farms. Unlikely SantaClaus, the Norwegian Nisse is real (Did I break some illusions now?) The names of Nisser-lake and Nisse-vally, have actually nothing to do with SantaClaus or the Norwegian Nisse. It actually is a combination of old words for lake and river. But the local authorities do use the santatheme in the marketing of the valley. And in the shield for the municipal, three santas-hats are used.
On the other side of the lake, you can see the special mountain Hægefjell, which is a popular place for climbers.
