Situated near the top of a wooded hill,many footpaths available to reach cache but some are steep.
Cwtch is a Welsh word meaning hiding place or can mean a cuddle or a hug.My cwtch is situated in Craig Gladys country park in Cilfrew.There are several car parks available but the barrier at the entrance (N51 40.958/W003 46.906) closes at 4.30pm so if you area arriving in the afternoon it may be wise to park on the road near the entrance.The area is quite steep in places so it may be best to find your way to the top of the hill before relying on your GPS for direction to avoid trying to climb some very difficult areas.There are many paths in these woods and you don't have to leave the paths to reach cache.Very close to the cache is a rocky viewpoint about 540ft above sea level(N51 40.966/W003 47.209) where you will have fine views up the Neath valley and over Cilfrew village.The cache itself is a tupperware box containing various goodies.Hope you enjoy one of my favourite local walking areas.
