Follow the Rubicon Trail #8 Traditional Geocache
CCrew: These have run their course. Most all were recently checked on and were within 30 or 50 so feet of their original coordinates which in the golden days of caching was reasonably close and historically many of these drifted up or down hills. They'll be collected ASAP

Number Eight in a series of caches placed while traversing the George Washington National Forest area..If you followed the rest of the Rubicon Series, we told you they would get harder!. Advantage to this is that you can bag Rubicon #7 while you're struggling!
The George Washington National Forest is a great wilderness area on the West side of VA, and is an outdoor person's paradise. Easily traveled, there are some areas that are accessible ONLY by 4X4. We're now a total of eight caches Since the more resourceful of you found various ways to sneak into the backsides of some of this series, we're now forced to make you work harder.. If you're looking for a road into here, or close to here there isn't but one, and you better not drive it alone and without good recovery gear. This 4x4 trail is generally considered one of the toughest in the GWNF. It's accessible by horseback, Mt. Bike, or a good hike and regardless of how you do it, the scenery is outstanding! This cache sits right on the VA/WV line, smack on top of the Great North Mountain Ridge. This one's not for the vertically challenged, nor would I let small children search for this as footing could be an issue.Enjoy!
