Geocache Description:

This cache is sited in the Fish Pond Plantation which is an oak and birch managed woodland. The wood is also the site of 'Paul's Pond' which is used as a recreational fishing resource and a shelterbelt of beech and rhododendron surround the pond. The pond was created as a fish pond for the Paul family of nearby Cookridge Hall. There are many types of fish in the pond though whether it was a Crimson Carp that we saw or another similar fish who knows? South west of the pond there is a fine example of a ha-ha, a sunken fence that is designed to trick the eye into believing that there is no barrier between the end of the garden (as seen from the house) and the parkland beyond.
The plantation can be accessed from many directions but car parking is available at the Golden Acre car park on the A660 though at the time of writing this, the direct pathway over the boardwalks is closed, however the nearest path from this is not far away. This cache could be combined with those in Golden Acre Park which is connected by an underpass from the car park. The cache is in a smallish plastic box.
