Geocache Description:

This is the first in a series of caches which have the common theme of being on the edge of water. There is a sequence to the caches: generally each cache contains the clue to the next. Each cache also contains special "limited edition" Water Margin geocache collectors cards! It is possible to park less than ten yards from this cache, although a walk along the beachside path from the second clue is pleasant on a fine day.

This is an easy one to get you off to a good start.

Locals will probably already know the location of Harold’s Boathouse, but to save getting scratched by the wrong gorse bush, use the clues to obtain the exact location.

Harold once used the ramp and tractor to drag his fishing boat up the shingle and into the boathouse, but clearly the equipment (and the boathouse) has not been used for many years, although Harold is still around!
A few yards away, hidden in the grass, are some pet graves. The beach is a well-known fishing spot, good for sea bass, but the tide can be strong here so swimming can be hazardous, even on a calm day. Many rounded granite boulders can be found in the area – relics of the Ice Age glacier which formed this part of the island.

The original cache contents were:

Water Margin collectors cards (6) - take one!
River Watch sticker
IOM TT 2004 badge
Water Bug TB
Fishing Lure

The short multicache trail will take you past beautiful thatched cottages to the northern tip of the island, then back to the cache.
Follow the trail carefully – if any of the calculated numbers is greater than 10, use only the rightmost digit (e.g. 24 becomes 4).

ABCD - The date on the sundial at the waypoint above.
E is (A+B+C+D)
F is (B+C)
G is (B+D-C).

The second clue is at

N 54°2E.FGA, W 004°21.BE7

H = Miles Anticlockwise plus A+C+D
I = Miles Anticlockwise minus Miles Clockwise
J = (H+I) minus 1
K = (E+1).
Ignore half-miles.
