Geocache Description:

What does aluminum foil, a cigarette and a catalpa have in common? If it's Reynold's Wrap, a Winston made by R. J. Reynolds and a tree more than 160 years old in Patrick County, Virginia, then they all have their roots at the Reynold's Homestead.

Hardin William Reynolds was a successful farmer, merchant, banker and tobacco manufacturer. He (and his wife Nancy Cox Reynolds and the many children born to them) influenced the economic and cultural growth of the US, particularly in the South, through their business success and philanthropy.

Rock Spring Plantation's 717 acres is a historian's delight with it's restored 2 story brick home filled with original family furnishings, and outbuildings. It is also home to Virginia Tech's Forest Resources Research Center. There are many surprises awaiting you as you travel thru the grounds searching for the 2 stages of your hunt.

Okay...substitute the numbers in place of the letters for your North and West Coordinates:

N - DL° DH. E9F'

W - FBF° F9. FEL'

Good Job - Now head out for the cache - but hold it right there! You really need to see this. Enter another coord. I promise it'll only take a minute...and it's on the way. It's the Catalpa TREE. This sucker is REALLY old!!! The tree is older than the house, and that was built in 1843. Go to N 36° 38.613 ~ W 080° 08.939 Now, now!!! I know what you are thinking. NO! NO! NO!! It is NOT hidden in or anywhere near the Catalpa Tree!!! Please DO NOT look there ~ or even think about putting a micro there!!!! ;-)

Follow the road to find your way towards a place where friendship blossoms. Sometimes the BRIDGE to friendships feel HOLLOW and rocky and the road can be TWISTED and filled with CURVES - but if you SEARCH for truth, you'll find the rewards that being a true friend can bring.

The container only has a small 3-4" opening, so don't bring anything too big to trade.
