Die St. Petersinsel liegt im Bielersee.

This cache is located near the highest point on St. Petersinsel
(Saint Peters Island). The St. Petersinsel is situated in the
Bielersee (Lake of Biel).
Vor den Jura Gewässerkorrekturen war die St. Petersinsel wirklich
eine Insel, doch seit den beiden Jura Gewässerkorrekturen im 19.
und 20. Jarhundert ist die St. Petersinsel eine Halbinsel, welche
von Erlach aus zu Fuss oder per Farrad erreicht werden kann. Das
Auto kann man auf einem der vielen Parkplätze (Siehe Waypoints
Parking1 und Parking2) in Erlach abstellen. Erlach kann auch per
Postauto erreicht werden.
Am Wochenende erfreut sich die Insel grosser Beliebtheit. Viele
kommen um zu baden, grillen oder einfach nur um irgendwo gemütlich
auf der Insel zu sein.
Von Erlach auf die Insel sind es ca 5km. Der Weg (Anfang siehe
Waypoint Start) ist sehr gut, flach und auch mit Kinderwagen ohne
weiteres zu bewältigen. Ein Sonnenhut, Sonnencreme und etwas zum
Trinken ist zu empfehlen, da der Hauptteil des Weges ohne Schatten
ist!
Der Cache selber befindet sich auf dem Hügel der St. Petersinsel,
ungefähr in der Mitte der Insel. Dort ist es auch um einiges
ruhiger als auf dem Rundweg rund um die Insel. Wichtig: Der
Cache befindet sich ca. 6m westlich von den angegebenen
Koordinaten! Im Wald ist der GPS Empfang relativ schlecht. Der
Cache sollte jedoch einfach zu finden sein, falls nicht ist er mit
dem Tip garantiert auffindbar.
Nachdem der Cache gefunden ist, empfehlen wir die Highlights der
Insel zu besuchen, sei dies die Super Aussicht vom höchsten Punkt
(Waypoint Top), das Kloster Waypoint Kloster), die Kapelle mit den
künstlerischen Steinen (Waypoint Kapelle) oder einfach nur ein Bad
im Bielersee zu nehmen (z.B. beim Waypoint Bad).

Before the Jura waters corrections (Jura Gewässerkorrektur) the
St. Petersinsel was an island, but since the Jura waters
corrections in the 19th and 20th century, the St. Petersinsel is a
peninsula, which is easy accessible on foot or by bike from the
village of Erlach. The car can be parked on one of the several
parkingplaces in Erlach (see waypoints Parking1 and Parking2).
Erlach can also be reached by bus (Postauto).
On Weekends lots of people visit the peninsula. People come for
bathing, having a barbecue or just for relaxing somewhere on the
peninsula.
The way from Erlach onto the peninsula is approx. 5km long. The
way (Start see waypoint Start) is very good and flat. It is no
problem to do it with a baby buggy. You should take a sun hat, sun
cream and somthing to drink with you as most of the way does not
have any shade!
The cache is located on the hill of the St. Petersinsel, approx.
in the middle of the Peninsula. There it is much quieter than on
the loop road around the peninsula. Important: The cache lies
approx. 6m west of the given GPS location! The GPS reception in
the forest is really poor. Anyway, the cache should be relatively
easy to find. If not the hint will help to find it.
After having found the cache, we would propose to visit one of the
highlights of the peninsula, either the superb view from the
highest point (Waypoint Top), the monastery (Waypoint Kloster), the
chapel with the special stones Waypoint Kapelle) or just take a
bath in the Lake of Biel for example at Waypoint Bad).
