Geocache Description:

This virtual cache is located in Arches National Park near the town of Moab in southeastern Utah. Delicate Arch may be the best known arch in the park. It is the arch that appears on some Utah license plates.

The hike to Delicate Arch is a three mile round trip with a 480 foot change in elevation. There is almost no shade. The trail starts at the Wolfe Ranch parking area and climbs along a path, then crosses gradually sloped open slickrock. The last 200 yards of the trail are along a not-intimidating rock ledge. Take at least one quart of water per person and allow at least 2 1/2 hours. You will want to linger at the arch for awhile. The waypoint is along a rock wall overlooking the arch. To receive credit for this cache: 1) Sit on the rock wall at the waypoint with your back to Delicate Arch. 2) Have someone photograph you HOLDING UP YOUR NAVIGATIONAL DEVICE with Delicate Arch appearing in the background behind you. 3) Upload your picture when you log your find. Note: The picture MUST CONTAIN you seated at the waypoint, a navigational device if at all possible, and Delicate Arch. Since this is an activity using a navigational device to reach specific coordinates, it is desirable to include a navigational device in the photo. This would prove the spot was not simply reached by looking at a picture rather than navigating. Obviously, if a device is both the navigation tool and the camera, this is not possible unless someone with you also has a camera. Hike safely and have fun!
