Geocache Description:

The Writers' Walk at Circular Quay celebrates some 49 authors who are either Australian or have some connection to Australia.

Each writer has a dedicated plaque set into the pavement.

To claim this cache simply:

1. Post a photo of yourself and GPS at one of the plaques.
2. Name the writer and nominate one of their works (book, play, story etc).

The co-ordinates will take you to Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, author of the Sherlock Holmes stories. Since our team name The Reigate Squires was inspired by a Sherlock Holmes story of that name, we thought this was appropriate.

Doyle visited Sydney at the turn of the 20th Century and one of the Holmes stories (The "Gloria Scott") has strong links to Sydney. In fact there is a Sherlock Holmes society called The Sydney Passengers.

So, the game's afoot! Go to it and elucidate your literary leanings for all.

(This cache has been launched during the Sydney Writers Festival in May 2004 but has no connection to the event or its organisers.
