Geocache Description:

L'arbre remarquable Chêne Géneau. Visit the Remarkable tree named Chêne Géneau

The path might be muddy, but the remarkable tree named Chêne Géneau (circumference 4,50 m, 30m high) at the cache site is worth the trip. It is one of the largest and oldest living trees in the forest. Estimated to be more than 400 years old the tree was just an acorn in the time of Shakespeare and Henri IV (who spent time in this area), that's about 200 years before John Keats wrote the sonnet Chapman's Homer. Enjoy a few minutes with the poem Chapman's Homer which is about the excitement of exploration and learning which Geocaching is too. There are copies of the poem in the cache.
