Vid en arkeologisk undersökning 1987 hittades en 8500
år gammal boplats från jägarstenåldern. Det
märkligaste fyndet var spåren efter ett
rektangulärt hus, 8,8 x 3,5 m. Förutom huset hittades en
del verktyg av flinta och porfyr. Detta är det hittills
äldsta kända huset i Norden. Huset har rekonstruerats av
Kalmar Läns Museum.
Gömman är en 0,2 l plastburk insvept i en grön
platspåse och innehåller loggbok, penna och några
bytesvaror.
During an archeological excavation 1987 a 8500 years old
habitation from the stone age was found. The most notably discovery
was the traces of a rectangular house, 8,8 x 3,5 m. Besides the
house some tools made of flint and porphyry was found. This is up
to now the oldest house that has been found in all the Nordic
countries. The house has been reconstructed by Kalmar Läns
Museum.
The cache is a 0,2 l plastic box containing logbook, pencil and
some trading items.
