Geocache Description:

MNANG Museum
The museum is open to all if you follow the instructions on our website, MNANG Museum.

Tours can be arranged during the off season by contacting the museum.

It may be a hassle, but this museum is well worth checking out as described in many of the comments.

Check out our new and updated website, Mn. Air National Guard Museum to learn more about this great, but little known aircraft display museum of which I am proud to say I am a member and volunteer. There are several aircraft on display besides the F-16, many of which the Mn. Air Guard flew in its existence. Come on out and take a look at our Great Nation's historical aircraft. The museum is free to all, but will accept donations to keep operational.

The museum was closed on September 11, 2001 and the Air Force renovated the hangars for the Duluth Air Guard F-16 Fighting Falcons to patrol the skies of Minneapolis/St.Paul right after the 9-11 attack in New York and the Pentagon. The Duluth Air Guard unit occupied the hangar for about a year and then returned to their base in Duluth. The museum was able to get the hangar back, but with limited space and as of April 3, 2004 and many hours of volunteer work it is again open to the public.

To log this cache you need to e mail me the entirety of where this aircraft was painted, word for word, number for number. Upon inspection of the Falcon, you will come across this information in plain sight.

I will not hesitate to remove a name from the cache page if this requirement is not met, and please, no photos of this info to be posted.

Come on out to the museum for a few hours of enjoyment and look at some of the aircraft our military has flown.

If you can get a group of 5 or more, you may call the museum to set up an appointment for a tour of the area at any time.

BE AWARE THAT THIS CACHE IS ON THE MN. AIR NATIONAL GUARD MILITARY BASE AND AS SUCH YOU WILL BE SUBJECT TO AN I.D. CHECK AND POSSIBLE VEHICLE SEARCH. DUE TO THE CIRCUMSTANCES OF SEPTEMBER 11, 2001 THIS IS DONE ON ALL MILITARY BASES.
