Pour trouver cette cache, il faut visiter les caches suivantes, et chercher les indices numériques (un numéro de 3 chiffres dans chaque cas) qu'elles contiennent: Château d'Eau de Traenheim (T), Uff 'm Scharrach (U), et Silberberg (S).
Il faut aussi trouver le point qui est situé à la même distance de chacun des waypoints GCxxxx associés à ces trois caches. Ne pas utiliser les coordonnées des boîtes mêmes des caches; il est donc possible de faire le calcul à la maison, avant de se rendre sur place.
Vous pouvez trouver ce point "central" en calculant (choisissez une bonne valeur pour la taille en mètres d'une minute de longitude !), en visitant le site avec votre GPS, ou en traçant (très précisément !) sur une carte, ou avec des coordonnées sphériques. Quelle que soit la méthode choisie, vous aurez certainement des petites erreurs, d'où au moins une partie de la difficulté estimée de cette cache. Petite vérification: quand vous êtes au bon endroit, le bâtiment le plus proche est de type "agricole".
Si ce point "central" est à N48°X, E007°Y, il suffit de calculer: P=(U+4)/1000, Q=(S-T+44)/1000. La cache se trouve aux coordonnées N48°(X+P), E007°(Y+Q). Exemple: si X=21.904 et U=419, la latitude est N48°22.327.
(English) The waypoint given above is just a good place to park your car, on the "final approach" to the cache.
To find this cache, you need to collect 3-digit numerical clues from Château d'Eau de Traenheim (T), Uff 'm Scharrach (U), and Silberberg (S).
You also have to find the point which is at exactly the same distance from the GCxxxx waypoints listed on this site for each of those caches. Don't use the physical location of the cache box. This means you can do this part at home!
You can find this "central point" by calculation (choose as accurate a value as possible for the local size of a degree of longitude), by using your GPSr to find the spot where the three waypoints are equidistant, or by doing some geometry on a map (perpendicular bisectors and other dimly-remembered concepts from your school days will be required), or with spherical coordinates. The inevitable slight errors that this will introduce are part of the difficulty rating of the cache! As a check, when you are standing on the central point, the nearest building should be part of a farm.
You should now have a value for the central point, of N48°X, E007°Y. Calculate P=(U+4)/1000, Q=(S-T+44)/1000. The cache is at N48°(X+P), E007°(Y+Q). For example, if X=21.904 and U=419, the latitude would be N48°22.327, etc.
