The cache is a small tuppa box (see the picture) placed near Jouques. I have named it "Coeur de Provence", not because it is geographically the center of the Provence, but because you are able to see (almost) all the beautiful areas of the Provence from here. That is Montagne St Victoire, the Luberon National Park, the Gorges de Verdon, the Alpes de Haute Provence and so on...
There are two ways to find this cache, the easy way and the hard way.If you would like to find this cache the easy way, be my guest and decrypt the encrypted code below. For the die-hard cachers among us, there is also a hard way...
First some general remarks:- This area is beautiful and very fragile, especially in the summer. Therefore mind the environment, stay on the tracks and do not use fire at all.- The area is closed during the very dry period (usually between half of may and the end of june) because of safety, please inform about this period at the (local) tourist office.
Best time to visit this cache is on a day with a very clear view, usually in the (early) morning after a clear (and cold) night- Wear hiking shoes to walk rocky terrain.
The easy way is by decrypting the code in combination with the directions of the hard way.If you prefer to do it the hard way, the coordinates and some simple directions should be enough for you:There is a network of small track in this area, but sometimes the direct way is not the right way.The cache should be approached from the South EastThe cache is on flat land, do not go into the vertical slope even if your GPS tells you to do so!The cache is hidden under a bush and covered with several rocks.Oh, and don't forget the view!
Note on cache maintenance: This cache might appear as a vacation cache, but it it not. Please keep this cache in good condition, close the box well and carefully place it back where you found it. Thanks!
