Kensington Gardens #3 (London) Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

Lactodorum: Hi, this looks suspiciously like the cache has gone. Could the owner please undertake a maintenance visit to check if it's there or not. In the meantime I'm archiving it but I'll happily unarchive it if/when it's found assuming it still meets the guidelines.

Thanks, Lactodorum

Geocache Description:

This is a breath mint container attached to a metal object with magnets.

Enjoy a loop walk around Kensington Gardens. If you begin at the Lancaster Gate tube station, the walk will take you about 2 miles and maybe 90 minutes as you search for the 6 caches and enjoy the views. Posted hours for the park are 6 am to dusk all year round. The park is lush with flowers right now, and the large green open spaces give it a sense of peacefulness. Dozens of park benches line the walkways for a quick lunch or a lingering visit with a good novel. The Long Water is filled with birds at this time in the season (February), and offers many opportunities for photography or bird feeding.

Kensington Gardens #3 will be found near the coordinates above, which are placed near the Peter Pan statue, one of the busiest tourist spots in the park.  For some reason, no one spends time where the cache is located, so you will probably have no trouble retrieving or replacing it. Maybe everyone else is taking pictures of Peter Pan?

You will not need to leave the pathway to retrieve or replace the cache, but you should avoid falling in the water, which is close by. This cache cannot be seen from the pathway, so it will not quickly be plundered, and you can reach it easily by standing behind the support structure

The cache contains a log only, so please bring your own pen or pencil. When replacing the log, make sure it is protected from view just as you found it.

If you are not from the UK and are planning a caching trip to the UK email me via gc.com if you would like info about London caching, to have a local guide or to meet for a beer. Also have a look at the links below for lots of relevant information.
