Located in PICOTA peek (773m) in Monchique area. Localizada no cerro da Picota (773m) na área de Monchique.
Monchique is a very nice village in the south of Portugal, surrounded by mountains that provide excellent tracks for hiking, biking, etc. All the area is a endless resource to be in touch with Nature and lovely sight spots. Unfortunately, it was severely affected by forestall fires last summer. Monchique is only 24 Kms from Portimão, and so, very easy to reach for everybody who is on vacation in the well known Algarve. Monchique and the area deserve a visit.
This traditional cache is located at PICOTA peek (773m) SE of Monchique. From the Cache location, on a good visibility day, one can see almost from Faro to Sagres, all the way to the sea.
WARNING: On low visibility conditions, be aware of the south side of the PICOTA
Peek, it may be quite DANGEROUS.
