Squeezed between busy Upper Street and
Essex Road, Islington Green hosts a World War I memorial, a
statue of Sir Hugh Myddelton, and numerous park benches,
trees and flowers. It’s easy to relax here during the day and
early evening hours, although the gates are locked soon after
dark. A pathway runs straight through the park from the
statue to the Waterstone's Bookstore on the other end, and
there are many seating areas on both sides of this path.
