David Bellamy's World Virtual Cache

This cache has been archived.

Haggis Hunter: Sadly after 18 years it is time for this to be archived.

Thank you to everyone who visited and to those who gave it 1 of its 203 favourite points.

The final location has been removed and apparently will be at least 7 years before it makes a come back.

However all is not lost, I have just listed an Adventure Lab within the gardens, so you can still walk round and enjoy the area whilst Geocaching.

Geocache Description:

This is a Multi Virtual Cache. After the comments about the trees at PhD. I thought it would be nice to do a cache at the Royal Botanic Garden. Using tree and plant names as part waypoints.

The co-ordinates above are for the West gate entrance which also allows on street parking at Arboretum Place. If coming by public transport the numbers 23 and 27 buses travel from Hanover Street to Inverleith Row stopping outside the East gate which has the following co-ordinates - N 55° 57.905 W 003° 12.193.

Opening hours for the garden are as follows:

Open daily [excluding 25 December & 1 January] from 10am,

closing: 4pm November-February,

6pm March,

7pm April-September and 6pm October.

There is no entrance fee to the garden, however if you decide to go into any of the plant houses a fee may be charged. (You will not have to go into any buildings to do this cache).

You may want to give yourself about 2 hours.

To do this cache you will have to go to the said co-ordinates and locate a tree/plant name, which will be listed on the table below. Once you have located the name, correspond it to the relevant number from the table, then put it in place of the letter for your part co-ordinate. The names are on little black signs, either on the tree/plant or in the soil next to it.
