Geocache Description:

Easy city cache near the planned new central station of Vienna. This place is an important part of the visiting program for tourists.

You can reach the cache area by public transport (train, U1 to "Südtirolerplatz", Tram O, 18 or D to "Südbahnhof"). The starting point is very close to this station.

The area (around Belvedere Castle) is open for the public every day at least from 6.30 am to 5.30 pm (depending on the season, see notice at the door!).
The Botanical Garden (where the cache is located) is open every day at least from 9 am to 5 pm (depending on the season, see notice at the door!). No entrance fee! Details and opening hours can be found at: Botanical Garden. (Site in german and english.)

Dogs are not allowed. The trail is most of it`s length a tarmac walk in Botanical Garden a gravel walk. Length: short, Difference in height: marginal
The above difficulty and terrain rating was done with the program from geocaching.com. To be internationally comparable I`m using this result. (See the discussion in the forum also.) My personal opinion is a rating of 2 stars for difficulty and 1 star for terrain.

Stage 1: The Starting Point
N1 =  48° 11.x1´ where x1 = 363
E1 = 016° 22.y1´ where y1 = 875
This stage will give you a first impression about the area. Count the vases left and right of you. The result is A.

Stage 2: The VIP
N2 =  48° 11.x2´ where x2 = x1 + A * 8 + 4
E2 = 016° 22.y2´ where y2 = y1 + A * 2 + A / 2
A very famous person died here. Use the german format of this date BC.DE.FGHI to calculate the next stage.

Stage 3: Nude in Public
N3 =  48° 11.x3´ where x3 = x2 + B + C + D + E - F + G + H + I
E3 = 016° 22.y3´ where y3 = y2 + (B + D + E + F + G) * I
Count the more or less naked men and women who are standing left and right at this place the whole year. The result is J.

Stage 4: The Calendar
N4 =  48° 11.x4´ where x4 = x3 + J * J * 3 + J * 3 + 2
E4 = 016° 22.y4´ where y4 = y3 - J * J * 2 - J * 2 - 2
Add Mardi Gras (=carnival) and the dog handler. The result will be K.

Stage 5: Another Calendar
N5 =  48° 11.x5´ where x5 = x4 - K + 6
E5 = 016° 22.y5´ where y5 = y4 - K * 7
Do the same what you did before now with the shepherd and the dove-feeder. The result is L.

As long as this stage is not accessible use the following formula instead: L = A - B

Now enter the Botanical Garden. The entrance is close to stage 1.

Stage 6: The Cache
N6 =  48° 11.x6´ where x6 = x5 - A * J - K * L + G * I + 2 * B
E6 = 016° 22.y6´ where y6 = y5 + 16 * K - L
