Välkommen till Kalmar!
Om du nu löser uppgifterna kommer du att ha en bra
”nyckel” (och kanske något att sätta nyckeln
på också) till vackra Kalmar. För att lösa
uppgifterna och hitta cachen krävs en promenad på en
knapp kilometer. Parkera gärna bilen i närheten av
centralstationen.

Uppgift 1: Hitta C
Gå till N 56 39.727 E 16 21.617
Beskåda monumentet över Kalmarunionen som
stadsfästes 1397 i samband med Erik av Pommerns kröning
till kung. Sverige, Norge och Danmark ingick i unionen som varade
till 1523 då Gustaf Vasa valdes till Sveriges kung. På
informationstavlan finns två årtal. Den sista siffran i
det andra årtalet ger dig C.
Uppgift 2: Hitta D
Gå till N 56 39.806 E 16 21.524
Du står nu vid fängelset. Härifrån gick en
vindbrygga över vattnet och till Västerport som ända
fram till 1850-talet var stadens infart från landsidan.
På väggen till fängelset finns ett årtal.
Översätt de romerska siffrorna till ett årtal.
Addera den första och den sista siffran i årtalet
så har du D.
Uppgift 3: Hitta E
Gå till N 56 39.774 E 16 21.643
Efter en kort promenad genom Västerport kommer du till ett
torg. På torget finns en fontän till minne av Gustaf
Vasas återkomst från sin landsflykt. På
fontänen finner du två datum. Sista siffran i det
äldsta årtalet ger dig E.
Uppgift 4: Hitta B
Gå till N 56 39.779 E 16 22.048
Du står nu vid en av portarna i Kalmars ringmur. Över
porten finns en kungasköld och ett årtal. Lägg
utseendet på skölden på minnet. Sista siffran i
årtalet ger dig B.
Uppgift 5: Hitta F
Gå till N 56 39.852 E 16 21.966
Du står nu på torget vid Kalmar domkyrka. På en
husvägg finner du samma kungasköld som i uppgift 4. Under
skölden och över dörren finns två tal. Addera
siffrorna i det övre talet och dividera med 2 så
får du F.
Uppgift 6: Hitta A
Gå till N 56 39.913 E 16 22.297
Du står nu framför det gamla varmbadhuset som för
en del år sedan är ombyggt till lägenheter.
På väggen på detta hus står ett årtal.
Sista siffran ger dig A.
Nu är det bara att leta rätt på cachen och
behålla dina minnen från Kalmar.

Welcome to Kalmar!
If you solve all tasks you will have a good “key” to
the beautiful city of Kalmar (and probably something to put the key
on). To solve the tasks and find the cache you have to walk about
one kilometre. Park your car close to the railway station.
You will find the cache at position N 56 39.ABC E 16 22.DEF
Task 1: Find C
Walk to N 56 39.727 E 16 21.617
Look at the memorial from the Kalmar union treaty from 1397 when
Erik from Pommern became king. Sweden, Norway and Denmark was in
the union to have the same king. The union lasted until 1523 when
Gustaf Vasa was elected as king over Sweden. On the information
sign at the memorial there are two years. The first is 1397. The
last figure of the second year will give you C.
Task 2: Find D
Go to N 56 39.806 E 16 21.524
You now stand beside the prison. From here there was a bridge over
the water to Västerport which was the only entrance to the
city from land until 1850. On the wall of the prison there is a
year (written in roman figures). Translate the figures and you will
have the year when the prison is built. Add the first and the last
figure of the year and you will have D.
Task 3: Find E
Go to N 56 39.774 E 16 21.643
After a short walk through Västerport you are reaching a
square. On the square there is a fountain as a memorial from the
return of Gustaf Vasa. On the fountain there are two dates. The
last figure in the oldest year will give you E.
Task 4: Find B
Go to N 56 39.779 E 16 22.048
You are now standing at one of the entrances in the walls around
the old city of Kalmar. Above the entrance you can see a heraldic
sign of a Swedish king and a year. Remember the sign. The last
figure in the year will give you B.
Task 5: Find F
Go to N 56 39.852 E 16 21.966
You are now standing on a square with the church of Kalmar. On a
house nearby you will find the same heraldic sign as over the
entrance to the city. Over the door and under the heraldic sign are
two figures. Add the two upper most figurs and divide by 2 and you
will have F.
Task 6: Find A
Go to N 56 39.913 E 16 22.297
You are now standing in front of an old bath house. Today it is
rebuilt to flats. On the wall to this house you find a year. The
last figure will give you A.
Now you only have to find the cache and keep your memories of
the city of Kalmar.
