Geocache Description:

Short hike out to find the Letterfern Broch

One of the Highlands slightly less well known Iron Age Brochs, see the nearby Glenelg Brochs for more info on Brochs in general. Its a bit out of the way (single track road) but now route to cache has great views of Loch Duich and Eilean Donan Castle and surrounding mountains. You can park at the old Totaig ferry slip way and then make your way up through the gate its about 1 km up to the cache site. If driving you will need to make a descision around Shiel Bridge, otherwise its a long way back.

When you get chance keep one eye on the water. Loch Duich is a sea Loch. Otters, seals, atlantic bottelnose dolphins, harbour porpoises and a variety of birdlife including eagles have been seen in the area.

Hope you enjoy. Zcat. Relief map using streetmap.co.uk
