Dieser Offset Cache beginnt bei einem schonen barocken Kloster. Insgesamt muessen fuenf Wegpunkte gefunden werden, indem man die Koordinaten aus gefundenen und berechneten Zahlen ermittelt.
Insgesamt sind dies 26 Zahlen, fuer die ich die Variablen A - Z verwendet habe. Daher der Name.

Zur besseren Lesbarkeit habe ich bei den Variablen das 'L' grossgeschrieben, [j] - wie Joseph - in eckige Klammern gesetzt und (i) - wie Igel - in runde Klammern.

Stage 1

Parke bei: N 48.00.946 E 008.01.914

Begib Dich in Richtung Kirche zu N 48.00.969 E 8.01.891
Hier befindet sich ein Schild auf dem unter anderem der Name eines deutschen Schlagzeugers (spaeter Saenger) steht.
Dahinter findest Du die Zahl

In der Naehe steht eine grosse Kirche. Vom Klosterinnenhof aus gibt es zwei Zugaenge. Am rechten Eingang findest Du eine PLZ und eine Telephonnummer.
Die Quersumme der PLZ ist

Die ersten drei Ziffern der Rufnummer (ohne Vorwahl) ergeben

Der linke Eingang ist ueber eine kleine Treppe erreichbar.

Verlasse das Kloster und finde nun den Brunnen, der dem Stifter dieses Klosters (Berthold II) gewidmet wurde. In der siebten Zeile der Inschrift, die den Stifter erwaehnt, steht eine Rechenaufgabe.

Der naechste Zielpunkt befindet sich in NO-Richtung
in (h) Grad. Er ist lediglich (g) Meter entfernt. Trotzdem empfehle ich, ab hier wieder das Auto/Motorrad zu nehmen.

Stage 2

Hier Stand einst ein Kreuz mit einer Zahl, die ich in den bisherigen Kalkulationen verwendete. Man findet dort auch eine Bank und etwa 8 Meter davon entfernt einen Strommasten. Das Kreuz wurde offenbar entfernt.

Damit ich nicht das ganze Raetsel neu stellen muss verwende ich nun die Zahlen vom Strommasten um die Variablen "w" und "y" zu berechnen.
[Die Leute koennen offensichtlich ohne Gott aber nicht ohne Strom leben.]

Auf dem Mast befindet sich ein kleines Metallschild mit Nummern. In der dritten Zeile sind einige Zahlen eingraviert. Diese Zeile ist beschriftet mit:
"F. Jahr und Nr.:"

Nun muessen wir uns mit dem Gewaesser begnuegen, das man hier (unuebersehbar) findet. Um was fuer ein Gewaesser handelt es sich (Schild!)

Hier steht eine kleine Holzhuette mit Grillplatz. Am Eingang der Huette sind rechts von unten nach oben durchnumerierte Balken. Einer der Balken ist laenger als die anderen.

Am vorletzten Zielpunkt angekommen, muesst zu Fuss weiter. Bevor Ihr aber mit der kleinen Wanderung beginnt, rechnet noch schnell die Koordinaten vom Cache aus. Dazu benoetigt Ihr die Telefonnummer auf einem Schild, das hier steht.

Stage 6: Der Cache liegt bei

Hinweise:
Es sieht komplizierter aus, als es ist. Alle Berechnungen kann man im Kopf machen. Nur die Variablen (a) und (h) enthalten Nachkommastellen.
Um Stage 2 zu erreichen, solltet Ihr einen Kompass mit guter Karte, sowie Zirkel und Lineal dabei haben - oder aber Euer GPS kann das.

Vom Startpunkt zum Cache und wieder zurueck benoetigt man 90 Minuten. Wer mehr Zeit hat, kann unterwegs viel Natur bewundern oder das Kloster besichtigen. Das letzte Stueck des Weges, das man zu Fuss gehen muss, ist steil und bei Naesse auch rutschig. Fuer ganz kleine Kinder evtl. nicht geeignet. Folgt dem Weg. An der Cache-Location ist der GPS-Empfang meist sehr gut.
Die Cache-Box ist eine sehr grosse Tupperdose.

'A through Z'

This offset Cache starts at a beautiful monastery. You will have to find five WayPoints by calculating the coords properly. In order to solve this riddle you have to find/calculate 26 numbers. I used 'A' through 'Z' as variablenames - hence the name.

I have enclosed the variable [j] -for Jimmy - in square brackets to make a distinction to (i) - for Idaho. The variable 'L' is capitalized.

Stage 1 Park at: N 48.00.946 E 008.01.914

Now turn to the big church/monastery at N 48.00.969 E 8.01.891
Here you'll find a signboard with the name of a famous german drummer (later a singer), followed by a number.
This number is

Nearby is a big church. There are two entrances. The right one will provide you with a ZIP-Code and a Telephonenumber.
The total of the digits of the Zip-Code is

Now, leave the monastery and find the fountain, which is dedicated to the founder of the monastery (Berthold II). Find the inscription mentioning the founder of the monastery. The seventh line is labelled with a formula.

Though it is only (g) Meters away I'd recommend using the car/motorbike from now on.

Stage 2

Here there was a cross beside the road, which I used in former calculations. You can find a bench there as well, and a pylon about 8 meters from the bench. But obviously someone removed the cross.
In order not to foul up the whole thing. I've altered the calculation of variables "w" and "y" and used the pylon instead.
[Obvously those people can live without Jesus but not without electricity]

This pylon has a small plate with technical data. In the last line there are a couple of numbers. The line is labelled:"F. Jahr und Nr.:"

Stage 4

A small wooden hut at a picnick-place. Entering the hut, turn right.
The logs that the hut is made of are numbered. One log is longer than the others.

From here it's a little walk down the hill.
But first you need to calculate the actual cache-coords. In order to do this you need the telephonenumber, that's imprinted on a signboard here.

Stage 6

Hints:
It shouldn't be too hard. You should be able to do all calculations by heart. Except for (a) and (g) all results are integers. If your GPS is able to calculate the target to find Stage 2 - ok. Otherwise you should have a good map, compass ruler & stuff.
From the starting-point to the cache and back, it takes at least 90 Minutes.
If you're not too much in a hurry, you can visit the monastery or adore much of the nature on your way.
The last part - where you have to walk - is steep and slippery. It might not be suitable for smaller children. Follow the trail. Cache-Location is rewarding, nice and good signals.

The cache box is a large tupperware-box.
