The first cache of Terschelling
This is the first Terschelling GeoCache!
Terschelling is an island. The third one counting from west to east in the Waddenzee, a really beautiful island with amazing variations in landscapes; dunes, dikes, forests, marshland, meadows, heath land, lakes and beaches.
A ferry service can take you there in about 50 minutes, departing from Harlingen. (taking your car with you to the isle is possible but VERY expensive so, rent a bike or take a bus) for information about the island, the ferry and accommodations visit this web site.
The cache is fairly easy to find although depending on the season the ground on which it is hidden can be rather wet. Just rent a bike and plan a trip that leads you closest to the waypoint (the parking spot). From this spot it is a short walk through the nature of the island. The cache does not have room for pen or pencil. Bring that along yourself!
Note, this is the former cache GC249B (N53 23.321 E5 13.643) and was adopted by Watjes. Because this is a "new" cache you can log this cache, -after- a renewed visit ofcourse.
Terschelling is een eiland. Het derde als je telt van west naar oost in de Waddenzee, echt een heel mooi eiland met een wonderlijk gevarieerd landschap: duinen, heide, bossen, stranden, moeras, dijken en weideland.
Een veerdienst brengt je in 50 minuten naar het eiland vanuit Harlingen. (je auto meenemen naar het eiland is mogelijk maar erg duur. Huur liever een fiets of neem de bus). Voor informatie over het eiland, de veerdiensten en overnachtingen kun je deze site bezoeken.
De cache is redelijk eenvoudig te vinden, hoewel de grond waarop ze ligt afhankelijk van het seizoen erg nat kan zijn. Huur een fiets, koop een kaart en stippel een route uit welke je het dichtst naar het waypoint leidt (parkeer de fiets op het parkeerpunt). Vanaf het parkeerpunt loop je over het pad door de natuur zo naar de cache toe. In de cache is geen plek voor pen of potlood, neem die dus zelf mee!
Let op, deze cache bestond voorheen als GC249B (N53 23.321 E5 13.643) en is geadopteerd door de Watjes. Omdat het een "nieuwe" cache is mag je deze cache na een -nieuw- bezoek ook gewoon opnieuw loggen.
Vergeet geen pen/potlood mee te nemen!
