Maunawili Demo Trail. A long walk worth the effort.
G as in geez oh meez, that's some walk. The G is from the Maunawili Trail map points as listed in the revised edition of Hiker's Guide to Oahu by Stuart Ball. The coordinates for all the map points are available on request.
I could have named this cache Rapper Movie Lite because it's at about 4 Mile. There are several ways to do this cache. Take the long walk from Pali to Waimanalo (approx 9.3 miles). Go from Pali to cache and back (approx 8 miles). Come up from the Maunawili Falls (approx 7.5 miles). If you decide to do the long walk be aware there are places between 6 and 7.5 miles into the trail that are not at all forgiving about stumbles or mis-steps caused by tiredness. The trail between Pali and the cache is much more forgiving.
Take bug juice and a poncho. I had to sit out a couple of rain squalls and that would be typical for this particular trail. You're looking for a standard ammo box.
