Geocache Description:

Located in the Patrick Eagan Park

This park is named after the same namesake that the city of Eagan is named after:

Members of Eagan's first board of supervisors were Patrick Eagan, James Callan and Robert O'Neill. Patrick Eagan, from whom the City of Eagan takes its name, was a native of Ireland and had come to this area with his family in about 1854. He served as the boards' first chairman.

When I moved out of Eagan 1 1/2 years ago there was a push by the City Council to develop a new golf course for the city (which already has two others). The proposed site would have taken a portion of this park.

Since I moved, I have not heard what the outcome of the proposal.
