Geocache Description:

Belas Knap is a communal burial chamber, known as a long barrow, dating back to the late stone age (approx 3000BC). A total of 38 bodies were found at Belas Knap and these were shown to have been buried over several centuries. The tomb was eventually abandoned as nearby land became exhausted by primative farming methods, forcing the local communities to move further away.

It is possible to park just off the road approx 1.5km away from the cache at N51°56.068 W001°58.322. From here you can look North East to see views of Winchcombe and Sudeley Castle (the home and final resting place of Catherine Parr, Henry VIII's sixth wife).

Take the footpath up the steep hill following the signs to Belas Knap. After visiting the tomb continue in a southerly direction for approx 200m. The cache is in a white plastic container.

It contains the usual assorted goodies for swaping.

If you are in need of refreshments after the walk there are some nice tea shops in nearby Winchcombe.
