Geocache Description:

A short walk through a rock park with some carved steps will lead you to the cache.

Mortar Rock public park is one of Berkeley's rock parks in the Northbrae area, providing great views, rock outcroppings, and areas for entry-level rock climbing. Mortar Rock park supposedly got it's name from the native Oholone Indians who would grind food into the rocks. If you look close, you will find a few grinding stones left. The cache is out of view from the practicing rock climbers and is in a camo taped plastic jar with a screw top.
