Geocache Description:

This is an easy cache to find and get to. We placed this here so you could see where Marsh Stream gets its start. Access is open in the summer to cars and ATV's and is a snowmobile trail in the winter.

There are no great views at this site though: Just like British explorer John Speke who discovered lake Victoria in 1858 while searching for the source of the Nile River and Marquette and Joliet who in 1673 traveled down the Mississippi river. You can drive to this cache site and see what starts out as runoff from Frye Mountain turns into the March Stream. March Stream travels from it beginning on Frye Mountain to Frankfort, Maine where it empties into the Penobscot River and the Atlantic Ocean. Along the way it travels past the March Stream Cache & Cache Falls. Don’t forget to stop along the way and visit out hometown of Brooks.
