Festival cache – Like folk festivals used to be….
Tønder blev anlagt på en holm mellem to af Vidåens dengang sejlbare løb. Byen var et vigtigt udskibningssted for heste og stude, indtil inddigningen startede i 1553 og umuliggjorde Tønders status som havneby.
Byen blev centrum for en kniplingsindustri, der først blev udkonkurreret af maskiner sidst i 1800-tallet.
Byen er køn – og musikken god - ikke mindst den sidste weekend i august.
På cachebeskrivelsens koordinater finder du en kopi af en figur. På soklen befinder sig en plade, hvorpå der står fem årstal.
Træk 1126 fra det øverste årstal – det giver et trecifret tal ABC.
Træk så 1757 fra det nederste årstal – dette trecifrede tal kalder vi XYZ.
Ca 550 m væk - i nærheden af festivalpladsen - finder du N 54º 55.ABC', E 008º 52.XYZ', hvor der er et 35-mm-filmhylster.

Tønder was founded on an islet between two arms of the “Millstream” (Vidåen). It was an important port until the middle of 16th century. Later the town became famous for its lace.
The town is pretty – and the music grand – especially in the last weekend of August
At the coordinates in the cache description you find a copy of a figure. On its pedestal there is a tablet on which you find five years. Subtract 1126 from the first year, yielding a three-digit number ABC.
Then subtract 1757 from the last year. This three-digit number is XYZ.
About 550 m away - near the festival site - you’ll find N 54º 55.ABC', E 008º 52.XYZ' There is a 35 mm film canister there.
