Geocache Description:

The way to the cache isn't difficult, you'll walk in a circle. On your way, you will pass some very basic restaurants (Almhütten). There's a lot of shadow because of the trees, and there is a stream. You don't need to bring water with you unless it's very hot.


This cache was placed by Team Tour de Austria to release the travel bug "Boris" (TB8042).

The whole hike will take about 1 hour.

Park your car at the starting coordinates, and walk to the following coordinates : N47° 24.687 E12° 58.761.
There you'll find yellow metal signs. Which route last the shortest?
If it's Filzensattel then go to the coordinates N47° 24.640 E12° 58.664
If it's Hochmaisalm then go to the coordinates N47° 24.850 E12° 58.894
If it's Mussbachalm then go to the coordinates N47° 24.633 E12° 59.013

Here are (this time on the right) again signs. Which animal is represented on the lowest sign?
If it's a pig then go to the coordinates N47° 23.827 E12° 56.501
If it's a dog then go to the coordinates N47° 24.707 E12° 59.685
If it's bird then go to the coordinates N47° 25.865 E12° 58.614

From now on you will find along your way a number of signs describing the the local fauna. It describes educatively the butterflies (Hochkönigs Smetterlingsreich) that you can can come accross in this area. At the end there is a quiz, so pay attention.

Arrived at the coordinates there's a small Alpine hut, next to a restaurant called 'Mussbachalm'. On a sign on the Alpine hut says a text : Halte Rast, Lieber Gast. On the sign there are also some little pictures. Which picture is NOT on the sign?
If it's a book then go to the coordinates N47° 24.627 E12° 59.944
If it's a feather then go to the coordinates N47° 25.312 E12° 57.202
If it's a hat then go to the coordinates N47° 25.342 E12° 57.310
