SnowBound Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

Derringer: Sentinel Fire maps indicate this cache has been cooked.
There is little chance it survived the flames.[:(]
It, and many others will be replaced and remnants removed over the coming year.
On the bright side it means lots of High Country trips [:D]

Geocache Description:

A winter only cache, situated in a remote part of the Victorian Alps with panoramic views.

You may only log this cache as a find, if you use snowshoes or skis to reach the cache.
A photo of you with GPS and skis/snowshoes at the cache site has to be provided to prove your method of approach.

See my photo below.

Access to this area can prove difficult depending on the snow level. A 4wd will get you alot closer to the cache - Don't forget the wheelchains.
This is a remote area in winter - There are no snowploughs to clear the track or help within 40kms.
If you do get stuck, recovery could be time consuming and costly. Be careful!!!!

If in a 2wd, drive to the snowline only, you will not have the ground clearance to proceed further, even with chains on.

Be self sufficient and carry emergency survival gear, ie tent, sleeping bag, food, warm clothing, 1st aid kit and recovery equipment.

If you decide to reach the cache at any other time by walking in, feel free to post a note to record your visit.
Rating during summer - Difficulty 2 Terrain 3
You are looking for a 100ml screw top container.

Enjoy the peace and solitude this area breathes during winter.
