Geocache Description:

PLEASE READ THE FULL DESCRIPTION! Several containers have been placed and either muggled or lost. There should be at least one container still in place, but it may not be readily visible or reachable. For those just passing through and celebrating the art, there is another option. Read about the giant metal AUTOGRAPH log book below and remember to bring a sharpie!

The original pill bottle container, placed in 2003, is thought to be either irretrievable or no longer present.

There should be a small, black, magnetic spare-key lock box (placed in 2008) that is hidden on some metal. Since it is a small container, it only holds a small logbook, and because there are plenty of metal hiding places, it can be very difficult to pinpoint. To anyone who does find this container: If the log book is full and you have a replacement log, you are encouraged to swap it out. Also, please keep your signatures small! This container is ideal in that it probably wont be muggled, but some folks might not want to crawl around in the brush looking for a tiny magnetc hidden lock box. There should also be a larger container hidden on the premises that is big enough for some tradables, but these physical containers are entirely optional for logging a find.

If you are not willing or able to find the physical cache container(s), there is a failsafe and quick way to log this cache. The point of this cache was always to bring people to Carhenge so they can experience the wonder that it has to offer. The most permanent and most fitting logbook for this site is the giant AUTO-GRAPH car on the northern side of Carhenge. Signing this car qualifies as a find, so be sure to bring a pen, pencil, or sharpie marker.

It is not permitted to sign the cars where the containers are hidden. The folks that manage Carhenge have problems with people writing graffiti on all of the cars. Technically, there is only one car at Carhenge that is meant to be signed - it stands vertically and says "AUTO-GRAPH". Signing any other car is against the Carhenge site rules.

NOTE: The difficulty is referring to the hidden container. Signing the AUTOGRAPH car shouldn't be very difficult, unless you forget to bring a sharpie!

Cache is located at the famous Carhenge, just outside of Alliance, Nebraska. Carhenge was originally constructed in 1983, but is constantly being added to. It is built as a replica of the actual Stonehenge in Great Britain. Enjoy this site, and remember to bring the camera for this amazing spiritual junkyard.

Admin Note: cache was hidden without knowledge of the ban on "vacation caches". This cache is currently being maintained with help from Kevin Howard of the Alliance Visitors Bureau.
