This multi-cache is located in Tapiola in the city of Espoo. Tapiola, also called the Garden City, was planned in the 1950’s as a place where nature and urban architecture are integrated. Nowadays I’m not so sure about the garden city thing, but you can see for yourselves. In September 2003 Tapiola celebrated its 50th anniversary. After a few years of renovation in the area, the cache is back! Enjoy this old multicache and the nice walk.
Stop 1. N 60° 10.660 E 024° 48.313
You will find yourself surrounded by some of the original buildings and constructions of Tapiola. The amphitheatre is divided into three sections. How many rows of seats are there in the middle?
53-(number of rows * 3) = the xx in the latitude for stop 2.
Stop 2. N 60° 10.7xx E 024° 48.666
Count the letters in the neon light sign above the main entrance of the building (there are two words, count all the letters). Subtract this number from 516 to get the xxx in the latitude for the third and final stop. Then, count the skylight windows at the main entrance. This number + 712 will give you the yyy in the longitude for the third and final stop.
Stop 3. N 60° 10.xxx E 024° 48.yyy
In the Winter you will have web-footed company here, but in the Summer you will most likely be left undisturbed while looking for the cache (a small plastic container). Snow may cause problems if more than 10-15 cm.
Cache was adopted in September 2009 from the original owner, and is now taken care of by Ecyrd & Outipapu. The new cache starts with a hand-made cell phone charm, and an NFC keyring.
