Geocache Description:

An online forum has been setup to discuss the newly founded South Carolina Geocachers Association. You can access the forum at www.iSCGA.org.

Want a chance to meet other Geocachers in South Carolina? Here's your chance! We're gathering on Saturday, August 16th from 2 to 5 p.m. Where? The coordinates are listed above so you can hunt us down, and I'll be posting encrypted directions in a few days.

While each of the nearby states has their own Geocaching Associations, South Carolina has been lacking in this area. That’s not to say that South Carolina is devoid of Geocaching. On the contrary! There are numerous caches to be found from the upstate to the low country and a great many cache hiders and seekers out there. Most of us have met other Geocachers in our local communities, but here is your chance to meet other Geocachers from across the state. Whether you’ve found 5 or 105 caches, your presence is very welcome. And while we’re gathered, lets talk about this newly forming South Carolina Geocachers Association and see if we can make it something a little more official than some words in the title of this event cache.

We will meet in the picnic shelter at a local county park. Since the tables are covered I'm making this a "rain or shine" event so don't let the weather keep you home. This park has minimal woodlands but it should suffice for our first meeting. There is already one cache in the immediate area, and I’ll make sure that there’s at least one more before the event takes place. I look forward to meeting everyone on August 16!

Since we are trying to set up this organization and there are many topics to be discussed and information to be distributed, Sissy-n-CR have established a forum which has already become quite active. You can read more about the Proposed South Carolina Geocachers Association here.

My thanks to Jon & Miki, The Commissar, Waterbaron and CheezerTKE for helping me plan this event. Thanks to dive4cb for the great logo. Thanks to Sissy-n-CR for creating the forum.
