Geocache Description:

"Caching" in on on another of Kentucky's claims to fame, this one will take you to the home of one of Kentucky's most interesting "Characters", Cassius Clay. A visit here should help you learn more about this fascinitating man and his daughter, Laura.

The above coordinates will take you to the front gate of White Hall. The site is open daily April 1 - October 31. To log this cache from November - March, simply answer the first FOUR questions whose answers are at the front gate. Otherwise, please answer ALL NINE of the following questions. E-mail us the answers through our profile above before logging your find.

For MORE INFORMATION on this historic location (such as hours that the buildings are open, etc.), just CLICK on the picture above. You can take an official tour for a FEE, but can wander the grounds and find all the cache answers for FREE. And Now the Questions:

  • What "Colors" are written on the front Entrance Posts?
  • How many "Hearts" are in the iron gates? (total)
  • In what year was the "cattle tunnel" that you just drove across built?
  • What "Family" has adopted the Highway from the interstate to White Hall? (not the Shells)
  • Of the several small Tulip Poplar trees planted in front of White Hall, who is the one that is most directly in front of the house dedicated to for his or her "Hard Work"?
  • Which "out building" is most directly North of the main house?
  • What two other tasks would have been performed in the workyard surrounding the "Stone Kitchen"?
  • How many semi-circular steps are there on the south side of the house, leading to the rose garden?
  • Of the "Garden Club Members" listed for their help with preserving White Hall, how many "Betty"s are there? (As an interesting aside, I currently hold the job that one of them retired from.)
Thanks goes to my family, who patiently waited while I laid out this cache, and to Dana Floro (and the other tour guides) who helped answer my many questions.
