Wye Up Here Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

Lactodorum: There seems to be a problem with this cache so I'm temporarily disabling it until the owners can sort it out.

The cache itself seems to need some urgent maintenance. On top of this, even given a 4 star terrain rating, the location sounds a bit dangerous. Looking at the OS map it is in between 2 footpaths so maybe it should be moved either up or down.

Once things are sorted I'll be happy to unarchive it.

Geocache Description:

Just a nice walk up the woods

The Royal Forest of Dean, Vale of Leadon and Wye Valley offer you the opportunity to see typical English Countryside at it's best! The Royal Forest of Dean was designated as a National Forest Park in 1938, the first in England, and offers you its natural beauty and outdoor leisure.
A wealth of history is associated with the area more can be found at "www.fweb.org.uk/dean/". The cache is located in a valley where you can walk, mountain bike, abseil off the cliffs, canoe, kayak, camp or whatever you wish. While canoeing on the river I noticed a lot of old dried flotsam and jetsam stuck high in the trees. I must draw the conclusion that in the spring, the water level is rather high. With this in mind I have decided to place this cache someplace that would not get wet in the spring, OK, I may have gone a bit over the top, in fact its only almost over the top or is that near the top? Yes! near the top! The cords are on the nice path due to the tree cover the cache is just about 40 feet to the east (ok its on the uphill side of the path) from the path you can see a big rock outcrop to the right a bit, the cache is here. There is a bit of a path going up,(OK, it is more of a path a body made as it slid down the hill) If you try this you will see why I have given you so much help! This help is a lot like, “you can see the moon at night can't you!”
Enjoy
