Geocache Description:

This cache was placed in a spot that everyone needs to see. The view from here is magnificent. It is at the end of forest service road 4500/537 or better known as Indian Rock lookout road.

To get here you will need to travel the Middle Fork of the John Day river road east from state hwy 395 at Ritter Jct. or west from state hwy 7 at Austin Jct.

At milepost 14 on the middle fork road you will need to turn north on road 45.

It is approximately 10 miles to the 4500/537 jct that leads you to Indian Rock lookout.

After parking at the end of the 537 spur road it is just a short walk to the cache. The cache is now an ammo can. (It originally was two 35 mm film canisters taped together with a logbook only inside.)

You will not be disappointed at the view from here.
