Geocache Description:


WARNING: In summer the cache location has a lot of tree cover which will make it EXTREMELY difficult to get a fix. This is the main reason this cache gets an overall rating of 4. YOU WILL NEED A SENSITIVE GPS AND BE PREPARED FOR FAILURE AS IT IS UNDOUBTEDLY VERY DIFFICULT TO FIND. Park at N51 48.000 W003 33.362 and you can then visit, as an aperitif, "Porth yr Ogof", which is the largest cave entrance in Wales and is just a very simple walk starting from the back of the car park. Several have died in its waters and if you are not afraid you can walk quite a way in without getting wet. I must admit we were too scared to try it.You then return to the car park and cross the road and start your journey to "Sgwd yr Eira" - the Fall of Snow. You will see several fascinating waterfalls on the way but these are a mere taster before you reach the fabulous "Fall of Snow" itself. You will need to walk behind the waterfall - just like in "The Last of the Mohicans" - to find the cache.I hope the cache is not too difficult. You may find it difficult to get readings but even if you fail the real cache is "Sgwd yr Eira" itself.Good hunting.
