This is an overlook cache on top of Town Hill. Directions From Hancock and Cumberland/ Md take I68 to Exit 68 Orleans Rd, N to US Sc 40 Left to the top of the hill. The cache contains: Winter Fest 92 Deep Creek Lake, Md Lions Club Pin, and a car wash token.
The Town Hill overlook is 100 foot long overlook available for birdwatching, viewing 7 counties and 3 states or simply enjoying the peace and quiet. On a clear days, enjoy the fantastic view of Sidling Hill Cut, or be amazed by the spectacular sunsets and sunrises.
The Town Hill Inn built in the early 1900's as a fruit stand and gas stataion by the 1920's when it became a bustling hotel and resturant. The Town Hill Hotel was the first tourist hotel built in Maryland to accommodate the "Automobile Tourist" and quickly becam know as "The Beauty Spot of Maryland".The is a great location for an overnight happening.
