I have been driving past this spot for 20+ years now. I have always been facinated by ole Paul here and have seen him go though a lot over the years. I thought it was about time North Portland had a micro cache and this seemed like the perfect place for one. This cache will be MAX accessible, when North/South MAX is completed in May 2004. The area can get busy, but mostly with folks driving by, urban stealth techniques should be used. The cache contains only a small log sheet. Please bring your own writting instrument and leave only your name and the date of your visit. Enjoy...
Cache container replaced 10/14/2003. New formulas for finding it. If you already have the data gathered you should be able to plug it in and find this micro.
At the above location you will need to gather the following data:
A = # of oxen waiting for MAX
B = # of horse riders herding the oxen
C = (# of the BSA Troop that helped with the restoration - 1) / 10
D = Last two digits of the year Paul was built
E = Last two digits of the year restoration started
F = Last two digits of the year restoration ended
G = Sum of the digits of the BSA Troop number from C
Then solve the following:
XX = A+(B*C)
YYY = (D+E+F)+((B*B)*A)+(C+G)
Final Location:
N 45 35.0XX
W 122 41.YYY
