This is the first cache in Luopioinen / Tämä on Luopioisten ensimmäinen kätkö
Korppivuori cache is located in the Laipanmaa wilderness area.
From this cliff people have been chasing elks down to the lake in the past. This might have given the lake its name. The mountain itself has for centuries be the home for ravens, and till 1960s, peregrine was its neighbour. Eagle owl has been known to live here as well.
Please exercise caution near the cliff, especially at winter!
The cache is glass container. Initially this cache contains the following items:
- key ring with spiral band
- bicycle tire repair kit
- balloon
- spare batteries for GPSr
Also there are the obvious
- logbook
- pen and a sharpener
- geocache instructions
Korppivuoren kätkö sijaitsee Laipanmaan erämaa-alueella.
Tältä jyrkänteeltä on muinoin ajettu hirviä alas järveen. Tästä lienee Hirvijärvi saanut nimensäkin. Vuorella on vuosisatojen ajan pesinyt korppi, ja 1960-luvulle asti muuttohaukka on sopinut samoille sijoille. Myös huuhkajan tiedetään pesineen täällä.
Olethan varovainen jyrkänteen äärellä, erityisesti talvella!
