Geocache Description:

Located at the Josh Parks Memorial Trail in Heber Springs.

We did try to find out about Josh Parks who he was and why he has a memorial trail named after him, but we could not find any info. If you have any info. about this we would appreciate any help. It is a beautiful, easy place to hike and we hope that you have a good time. The cache is in a small cooler beneath a large rock, there is an arrow pointing down to it. Also, sandbassking and queen have been pestering us like mosquitos about hiding Dweezil, so here he is. Happy hunting Longhorns. Even though it is Dweezil's objective to return to Texas and stay there, Arkansans are more than welcome to keep him away from the Aggies as long as possible. Remember the Cotton Bowl!! [p.s. Bring it on 9Key] This cache has been replaced on 6/21/07 to a small container in a new location. The new coordinates are: N35 31.391 W 092 00.080 The cache contains a magnet, party popper, whistle, Mt Home pin, black sneaker keychain, and a DB TB. Josh Park was a high school student, who while traveling with six other friends to a basketball game in Batesville, was in a car accident. He and one other young man were killed in this accident; the others were severely injured. Josh was very athletic; excelling in track/cross country. To this day the Heber Springs cross country and track teams practice on this trail many days. Josh's dad works for the Corps of Engineers. This trail is one way to show respect for one outstanding young man whose life was taken early.
