Geocache Description:

An easy walk (0.25 miles)along a well worn path through trees with good views from the folly. Not buggy friendly.

Choice of two places to start. The first is a path that starts in front of The Brondanw Arms, Llanfrothen (N52 57.003 W004 04.003). Great meals can be had there. There is a beer garden and a kiddies play area. On the path, ignore the first turn stile on the right. Continue on main path until you reach two turnstiles together. At this point go left over a fence and follow the path to the tower. While here, explore the folly, it is fun. This folly has an inscription "This outlook tower was suscribed for as a wedding present to Clough Williams-Ellis and his bride Amabel Strachley in 1915 by his brother officers of the Welsh Guards. In the Second World War, it was prepared as a local military strong point to repel the expected German invasion". The alternative starting place is a parking area at N52 57.498 W004 03.807. There is now a £2 charge (August 2021). Go across the road and along a path through the woods. Contents: Pool ball keyring, Light up animal pen, 20mm padlock & keys, Simpsons wristwatch, 50 things to do & make book, Winman aluminium dart shafts, Winman dart flights, Carabina keyring, Aluminium torch, Compass with magnifier, Pack of mini tinsel, West Michigan Express TB.
