From stage
1 to stage 6 there is an elevantion gain of about 170 meters. On your 1.7 km way to
the summit you will learn interesting facts about the archeological excavations.
On the top you will be rewarded with a beautiful view over the Wörthersee.
The starting point is located between Schiefling and St. Egyden. There are
parking places at the nearby restaurant "Kreuzwirt". The summit can
"officially" only be reached on foot but it is of course possible
to go by mountainbike :-)
Stage 1:

At the start coordinates you will find a large Kathreinkogel sign. The three
digit number is A. On your way to stage 2 you have to go through a gate
(don't forget to close it again). By the way: it looks like the dog does not
like mountainbikers... (so be prepared ;-)
Stage 2:
N 46° 34.270 + A
E 14° 05.278 - A
Besides the great view over the Rosental
you will find a very small building at stage 2. It has a window which consists
of glass elements. The number of glass elements is B.
Stage 3:
N 46° 35.022 + B*10
E 14° 03.855 + (A/2) + (B*4)
At stage 3 you are standing in front of a sign. The crossfoot of the four digit
number is C.
Stage 4:
N 46° 35.000 + (C*5) - 1
E 14° 04.173 + (C*B)
Again, the coordinates have led you to a sign. It shows palisades (a sort of
a fence) on an earth wall. On single palisade looks like the character "V".
Count the number of palisades and keep it in mind as D.
Stage 5:
N 46° 35.297 - (D*4) - (C*4)
E 14° 04.353 + (A/10) + (B*8)
What a surprise, another quite familiar sign which contains the last piece of the
riddle. The two digit number is E.
Stage 6:
N 46° 34.374 + key #1
E 14° 03.775 + key #2
Congratulations, now you have collected all parts of the final keys to the
cache.
Key #1 = A+B+C+D+E+11
Key #2 = A-B-C-D-E
Be very careful when you approach the cache location.
Just follow the small path and keep in mind that the cache is quite easily accessible without being at risk.
Caution: Do not try to reach the cache from the top or when the ground is wet and slippery. Do not leave the small path! Do not try to find the cache when it's dark because a extreme slope is near the cache location!
