Geocache Description:

The Dunderberg Spiral Railway is featured in this cache and offers an interesting introduction to this unique feature.

Park at Rt 9W and Jones Point Road (41 16.863' 73 57.770') at the Hiker parking area and walk 20 meters south down the road to the trailhead and follow the red dot trail.

The cache hunt takes you past a completed tunnel and up a portion of the incline, along a portion of the railbed and ending at a fine view of the river. Construction of the railway took place 1890-1891 and was abandoned when the money ran out. You can read more about it at:
(visit link)

The cache itself is a 30 caliber ammo can and is well stocked. A fascinating uncompleted tunnel can be found a short way up the blue trail.
