The treasure is hidden in a small park not too far from the Tama River. It is off a nature trail, protected by reeds. It is in a clear, rectangular Rubbermaid container, well hidden by a tree. Depending upon the season (Fall, Winter), you might have to push through some tight bamboo. This is easy to reach by car but a long walk from the station. A taxi will cost about 1900 yen.
Lupin has hidden another cache. This time it is in his former host country. We lived in Japan for 9 years, learning and enjoying so much. Now it is time to put a little something of my culture back. The cache is hidden in Tokyo Hachioji Takigahara play ground, hidden by reeds near a small bamboo forest. It is a good location for picnics, sports and parties. . There is a playground office with a large free parking lot nearby. The cache is filled with things that would only be found in the US. Many of them are from my local area. Some of the items are: Local festival pins, t-shirt, carabiner, lilac festival perfume. All are items you would only find in the US. If anyone from the US visits the site, please try to keep the theme going. I want to give a special "Thanks" to Quinn one of the fathers of geocaching, who kindly lent me a GPS, making this first placement possible. This is an old cache and many people have helped keep it going. Thanks to: Wenbin for his great effort. Stop by and we can have lunch. Lupin ------------------------------------------------------- Update 2019 08/05 The bamboo has grown a lot since I was here last time. Be prepared to break a few stalks so you can pass. The mosquitoes were brutal during this season. Wear bug spray/insect repellent. The log books were damaged and a couple of people were kind enough to put in a small folded paper log. If you are coming to this cache I would appreciate it if you brought a log book that you can leave behind. Thank you for keeping this old cache alive. Lupin
